Getting Started / Setup

Register An Account

Firstly, you must have a Gig Stream Account. Click here to register a new account

Software

  1. Download a RTMP encoder.
    We like OBS as a good free version you can download here https://obsproject.com/
  2. Ask Gig Stream for your
    RTMP URL: rtmp://streamcast.liveserver.net/live DEMO ONLY WILL NOT WORK
    and
    Key:  8k0nj0cttm88ocsgk8og DEMO ONLY WILL NOT WORK
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Select “Stream”
  5. Select “Custom”
  6. Insert the RTMP Stream and Key under settings in “OBS”.
  7. Link camera/media in the sources window

of Note is OBS uses flash. You will need to insure your flash is working to connect a camera (especially in chrome). Look for the jigsaw icon and allo

Camera Setup (OBS)

  1. Select source window
  2. Select “+”
  3. Select Video Capture device for webcam attached to the computer

Camera Setup (Mobile Phone with Larix)

Simple setup with your phone

1. Ask Gig Stream for your
RTMP URL: rtmp://streamcast.liveserver.net/live DEMO ONLY WILL NOT WORK
and
Key:  8k0nj0cttm88ocsgk8og DEMO ONLY WILL NOT WORK
The URL and Key need to be combined;
Add the key to URL after “/”  e.g.
rtmp://streamcast.liveserver.net/live/8k0nj0cttm88ocsgk8og

2. Download Larix from the App/Play store. Install and open

3. Click on the settings icon

4. Open connections

5. Open New Connections

4. Name the connection. Your show with a date is a good name.

5. insert into the combined URL and key in the URL section e.g. rtmp://streamcast.liveserver.net/live/8k0nj0cttm88ocsgk8og

6. Return to camera

7. Press record

8. Gig Stream needs to accept your stream to broadcast!

Mobile Phone with external Audio (Mic/Mixer output)

  1. You need a 3.5mm splitter for the 3.5mm headphone jack(android) or lightning cable to 3.5mm splitter(iPhone). Please see videos here. iPhone will also need a lightning to 3.5mm jack cable

High Res Cameras

1. you should be able to connect the high res cameras through a device like legato’s cam link to your computer. How you do this is up to you. if the camera works with your computer you should be able use OBS or encoder software to send the RTMP stream

Multi camera Shoot

1. You can do a multi-camera shoot with devices like the Black Magic ATM Mini or other devices that let you send a single signal to OBS or RTMP software
